Attorney James Ginzkey of Bloomington, IL; ethical gnome

The state of Illinois presented James P. Ginzkey with a law license in 1979 after he graduated from St. Mary’s University School of Law.

As one would suspect, this wasn’t Jimmy’s First bite at the Attorney Misfits Apple Tree. He previously received a complimentary reprimand for engaging in a variety of misconduct.

The Disciplinary Commission found Jimmy guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

• Engaged in conduct is prejudicial to the administration of justice
• Knowingly disobeyed a court order by improperly disclosing privileged documents (Up yours, said Jimmy!)
• Jimmy’s misconduct was serious
• Jimmy exhibited a lack of remorse
• Jimmy failed take responsibility for his misconduct or show remorse
• Jimmy blamed others for his misconduct
• Jimmy laughingly suggested that the disciplinary proceeding was unfair or unwarranted

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Illinois Supreme Court punished Jimmy by gifting him with a complimentary censure.  

And lastly, as one would suspect, Jimmy does not mention the misconduct alluded to above on his website at www.ginzkeylaw.com.  Apparently, he chose to conceal this relevant information from prospective clients for the purpose of not limiting his future victim pool.

As we speak (ca. May 2023), Jimmy practices his so-called brand of law with the Ginzkey Law Office at 221 East Washington Street in Bloomington, Illinois.
