Attorney James Schultz of Rock Island, IL; moronic cheater
The state of Illinois presented James H. Schultz with a law license in 1980 after he graduated from Drake University School of Law.
The Disciplinary Commission found Jimmy guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.
-
Failed to provide competent representation (moron)
-
Failed to refund $6,000 to his client Ruth Clark after being ordered to do so by the Circuit Court of Rock Island County (Screw you, said Jimmy!)
-
Failed to refund an unearned fee (cheater)
-
Charged or collected an unreasonable fee
-
Failed to keep client informed of status of matter
-
Attempted to collect an additional $7,340.25 that Jimmy allegedly incurred for his representation of Ruth, which served to benefit his other client, Richard Doyle, to the detriment of Ruth
-
Engaged in a concurrent conflict of interest by representing both Richard and Ruth where Ruth’s interest was directly in conflict to those of Richard, by conduct including drafting a will, quitclaim deeds, and power of attorney that benefitted Richard to the detriment of Ruth, without obtaining informed consent for the representation
-
Failed to reasonably consult with a client about the means by which that client’s objectives are to be accomplished
As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Illinois Supreme Court punished Jimmy by gifting him with a complimentary 1-year suspension of his law license.
As we speak (ca. May 2023), Jimmy practices his so-called brand of law with The Law Office of James H Schultz PC at 2009 9th Avenue in Rock Island, Illinois.
