Attorney Alison Motta of Chicago; ethical troll

The state of Illinois presented Alison H. Motta with a law license in 2001 after she graduated from the Illinois Institute of Technology Chicago-Kent College of Law.

FYI: Illinois Institute of Technology is ranked as the 149th best law school in the country out of 202 ABA accredited schools.

The Disciplinary Commission found Jimmy guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

• Engaged in conduct intended to disrupt a tribunal
• Made an extrajudicial statement that she knew or reasonably should have known would be disseminated by means of public communication and would pose a serious and imminent threat to the fairness of an adjudicative proceeding
• Used means in representing a client that have no substantial purpose other than to embarrass, delay, or burden a third person
• Engaged in conduct that is prejudicial to the administration of justice
• Alison’s misconduct created a risk of harm to her clients
• Alison knew that her statements to the media shortly before trial was set to begin “would pose a serious and imminent threat to the fairness of an adjudicative proceeding in the matter

As a direct consequence of her misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Illinois Supreme Court punished Alison by gifting him with a complimentary stayed 90-day suspension of her law license.

And lastly, as one would suspect, Alison does not mention the misconduct alluded to above on her website at www.mottalawfirm.com.  Apparently, she chose to conceal this relevant information from prospective clients for the purpose of not limiting her future victim pool.

As we speak (ca. June 2023), Alison practices her so-called brand of law with Motta & Motta LLC at 161 North Clark Street in Chicago, Illinois.
