Attorney Christopher Emerald of Crystal Lake, IL; ethical troll

The state of Illinois presented Christopher Robert Emerald with a law license in 1999 after he graduated from St. Louis University School of Law.

The Office of Disciplinary Commission found Chris guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

• Delayed in filing a probate case
• Misled his client about the probate case's status
• Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
• When he eventually opened the probate case, Chris forged the client's signature on documents and filed them with the court
• He also forged the client's ex-spouse's signature on a document
• Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonesty, or misrepresentation

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Illinois Supreme Court punished Chris by gifting him with a complimentary 1-year suspension of his law license.

And lastly, because Attorney Misfits in Illinois are held to a much lower standard of conduct Chris was never criminally charged with forgery.

As we speak (ca. December 2022), Chris practices his so-called brand of law with CE Law LLC at 905 Pinegree Road in Crystal Lake, Illinois.
