Former Judge Brian Privett of Paris, KY; ethical troll

The state of Kentucky provided Brian Keith Privett with a law license in 2006 after he graduated from the University of Louisville School of Law.

The Judicial Conduct Commission found Brian guilty of engaging in the following misconduct, all of which took place while he was employed as a 14th Judicial Circuit Court judge in Georgetown, Kentucky.

  • Exchanged flirtatious and sexual text messages in with an AOC employee that he did not supervise while serving as Circuit Court Judge in the 14th Judicial Circuit
  • The text messages involved multiple conversations including exchanges that occurred while Brian was on the bench presiding over court proceedings
  • Failed to comply with the law (scofflaw)
  • Failed to act in a manner promoting public confidence in the judiciary
  • Abused the prestige of judicial office to advance his personal or economic interests or that of others, or allowed others to do so
  • Participated in activities that would appear to a reasonable person to undermine Brian’s  independence, integrity, or impartiality when engaging in extrajudicial activities

As one would suspect, Brain did what any coward would do, he resigned from the bench rather than be subjected to the embarrassment of being tossed off the bench by the Kentucky Supreme Court.

As we speak (ca. December 2022), Mark practices his so-called brand of law with the Privett Law Office PLLC at 433 Main Street in Paris, Kentucky.
