Attorney William Delaney of Chicago, IL; thieving loser

The state of Illinois presented William Joseph Delaney with a law license in 1999 after he graduated from Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago-Kent College of Law.

The Illinois Registration and Disciplinary Commission Office found Billy guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

• Failed to promptly distribute funds belonging to clients or third parties
• Used client funds for his own personal or business purposes
• Misappropriated (stole) $321,403.79 from clients or third parties in three matters
• Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonesty, or misrepresentation
• Charged his client’s credit card $10,000 when he knew the client had only authorized him to charge $2,500 for his legal fees
• Failed to refund the overbilled amount of $7,500 to his client (thief)
• Engaged in a pattern of misconduct
• Misconduct caused actual harm to clients and third parties by depriving them of their funds
• Failed to make any restitution to the parties whose funds he took

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Illinois Supreme Court punished Davey by gifting him with a complimentary 3-year suspension of her law license effective
