Attorney John Willard of Hamilton, OH; ethically indigent

The state of Ohio presented Joseph John Thaddeus Willard with a law license in 1966 after he graduated from University of Cincinnati Law School.

Disciplinary Counsel of the Ohio Supreme Court found John guilty of the following misconduct.

John partnered up with Foreclosure Alternatives, a non-lawyer organization to represent clients in foreclosure actions and he represented them with very little preparation or communication. John agreed to a fixed fee of $150 to provide limited representation of customers referred buy Foreclosure Alternatives. John participated in at least 28 cases. Out of these 28 clients (victims) Johnny only discussed their cases with only three or four of them. Foreclosure Alternatives never disclosed to their victims that they had employed Johnny as counsel.

Disciplinary Counsel found that John had assisted Foreclosure Alternatives in the unauthorized practice of law. John was also found guilty of failing to seek the objectives of his clients and for failing to contact them.

Johnny must have been really hard up for fees if he had to partner up with a clown outfit like Foreclosure Alternatives for a lousy $150 per victim.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Ohio Supreme Court punished John by gifting him with a 6-month suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. June 2012) John continues to practice law in the Hamilton, Ohio area.
