Attorney Joseph D. Weisberg of Sylvania, OH; felonious tax cheater The state of Ohio presented Joseph David Weisberg with a law license in 1967 after he graduated from University of Toledo Law School.
The Toledo Bar Association Grievance Committee found Joseph guilty of the following misconduct.
Joe’s federal tax evasion conviction resulted in him being sentenced to five months in prison and five months of house arrest. The IRS entered into an agreement with Joe for him to make monthly payments on the taxes he owed.
In an effort to conceal his assets from the IRS, Joe deposited his personal funds into his client trust account, which included substantial portions of earned legal fees. Joe used his client trust account to pay virtually all of his business expenses over a five year period of time. He also drew checks from the client account to pay numerous and substantial personal expenses.
As a consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Ohio Supreme Court punished Joseph by gifting him with a stayed 24-month suspension of his law license. In truth, Joe didn’t receive any real punishment from the comedians sitting on the Supreme Court.
The comedians sitting on the Ohio Supreme Court mitigated Tommy’s so-called punishment because of his agreement to continue treatment for his gambling addition. The comedians were also impressed with presentation of “strong evidence of his [Tom’s] character and reputation.” Only a bunch of morons would buy into this kind of crap!
As we speak (ca. June 2012) Joseph practices at 8331 Fossil Avenue in Sylvania, Ohio which is a suburb of Toledo.
