Attorney Thomas Vogtsberger of Bowling Green, OH; deadbeat  The state of Ohio presented Thomas Henry Vogtsberger with a law license in 1975 after he graduated from Toledo University Law School.
Disciplinary Counsel of the Ohio Supreme Court found Thomas guilty of the following misconduct.
Thomas deposited personal funds into his client trust account in order to shield the funds from his credit ors. He embarked on this deceitful conduct after his divorce which led to financial obligations he was unable to fulfill. In addition, Tommy had judgments against him totaling $130,000.
As a result of the judgments against him, Tom’s business and personal bank accounts were garnished, so he closed them and began to deposit funds into the client trust account.
As a consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Ohio Supreme Court punished Thomas by gifting him with a 12-month suspension of his law license.
In its ruling the comedians on the Supreme Court ruled that it is “of the utmost importance that attorneys maintain their personal and office accounts separate from their client’s accounts and that the violation of that rule warrants a substantial sanction whether or not the client has been harmed.” A 12-month suspension doesn’t sound like a “substantial sanction” to me!
As we speak (ca. June 2012) Tom practices law at 124 East Court Street in Bowling Green, Ohio which is about 20 miles south of Toledo.
