Attorney Roni VanAusdall of Quincy, IL; ethical troll

The state of Illinois provided Roni S. VanAusdall with a law license in 2003 after she graduated from DePaul University School of Law.

The Illinois Disciplinary Commission found Roni guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

  • During a dissolution of marriage case, Roni came to an agreement with opposing counsel concerning parenting time
  • Roni prepared a proposed order memorializing the dissolution agreement, and obtained opposing counsel's permission to submit the order to the trial judge for entry
  • Roni then created a second proposed order that included provisions that had not been agreed upon and falsely assured the trial judge that opposing counsel had agreed to the order she was presenting
  • Roni was the subject of a misdemeanor charge of attempted forgery

As a direct consequence of her misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Illinois Supreme Court punished Roni by gifting her with a complimentary 1-year suspension of her law license effective March 2022.

As we speak (ca. October 2022), Roni will resume her so-called brand of law in Quincy, Illinois in March February 2023.
