Attorney Timothy Vanagas of Portland, OR; repeat offender

The state of Oregon provided Timothy J. Vanagas with a law license in 1976.

The Oregon State Bar found Russell guilty of the following misconduct:
  1. Neglected legal matters entrusted to him
  2. Failed to carry out contracts of employment for clients
  3. Improperly withdrew from employment
  4. Failed to respond fully and truthfully (lied) to inquires from the Bar investigators
  5. Failed to act with reasonable diligence (slacker)
  6. Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
  7. Misconduct caused actual damage to several clients
  8. Client’s lost legal causes of action because of Tim’s gross negligence
  9. Engaged in a pattern of misconduct
  10. Committed multiple offenses
As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Oregon Supreme Court punished Russell by gifting him with a complimentary 6-day suspension of his law license.

As could be expected, this wasn’t Timmy’s 1st bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree. The State Bar previously found him guilty of the following misconduct.
  1. Failed to deposit and maintain client funds in a trust account
  2. Entered into an agreement restricting his right to practice law in connection with the settlement of a lawsuit
  3. Engaged in a conflict of interest
  4. Failed to advise his clients of the obvious conflict of interest
  5. Failed to obtain written consent from clients to represent them when his financial interest was in direct conflict with theirs

As a result of this initial bite at the Misfit Tree, the apologists sitting on the Oregon Supreme Court punished Timmy by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. June 2012) Timothy practices law at 800 SE 181st Street in Portland, Oregon.
