Attorney Mari Tsosie of Provo, UT; ethical troll

The State of Utah presented Mari Alvardo Tsosie with a law license in 2015 after she graduated from the Brigham Young University (BYU) School of Law.

The Ethics and Discipline Committee of the Utah Supreme found Mari guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

  • Failed to safeguard client funds
  • Failed to decline or terminate representation when required to so act
  • Refused to provide an accounting to his client
  • Failed to refund unearned fees
  • Failed to comply with the rules of the disciplinary authority (Up yours, said Mari!)
  • Made minimal effort or no efforts to pay any amount of restitution to her former client
  • Engaged in improper communications with persons represented by counsel
  • Did not earn the entire retainer paid by the client

As a direct consequence of her misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Utah Supreme Court punished Mari by gifting her with a complimentary 1-year term of probation.

And lastly, as one would suspect, Mari fails to mention the misconduct set forth above on her self-serving website at www.alvaradososielaw.com. Apparently, she chose to conceal this relevant information from prospective clients for the purpose of not limiting her future victim pool.

As we speak (ca. October 2022), Mari practices her so-called brand of law with Alvarado Tsosie Law PLLC at 110 South 500 West in Provo, Utah.
