Attorney Albert Pranno of Salt Lake City; ethical gremlin

The State of Utah presented Albert N. Pranno with a law license in 2003 after he graduated from the University of Utah School of Law.

The Ethics and Discipline Committee of the Utah Supreme found Al guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

  • Failed to act fairly towards opposing party and counsel
  • Failed to safeguard client funds
  • Failed to hold funds in trust but used the funds to pay his legal fees
  • Al failed to advise opposing party not if withdrawal of funds from retirement account involving a divorce matter
  • The court in the divorce action issued an order that neither party sell, transfer, or otherwise dispose of any assets or incur further debt
  • The court order also required any party who had taken, sold or disposed of any assets provide an accounting of the disposition to the other
  • Despite said court order, Al disposed of funds from a retirement account to pay his legal fees and his client’s expenses
  • Failed to comply with court order (Up yours, said Al!)

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Utah Supreme Court punished Al by gifting him with a complimentary 14-month term of probation.

In truth, the comedians sitting on the Utah Supreme Court didn’t mete out any meaningful punishment to Al.

And lastly, as one would suspect, Al fails to mention the misconduct set forth above on his self-serving website at www.prannolaw.com. Apparently, he chose to conceal this relevant information from prospective clients for the purpose of not limiting his future victim pool.

As we speak (ca. October 2022), Al practices his so-called brand of law with Pranno Law at 8 East Broadway in Salt Lake City, Utah.
