Attorney David Moore of Sylva, NC; cheating loser

The state of North Carolina presented David Douglas Moore with a law license in 2000 after he graduated from the University of Memphis School of Law.

The Grievance Committee of the North Carolina State Bar found Davie guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

• Quoted a clearly excessive fee despite having a flat fee arrangement with his client, causing the client to hire a new client and request her file
• In exchange for her file, Davie provided a release and indemnification form for the client to sign, which purported to release “any and all claims whatsoever which may arise” from his representation (aka, legal malpractice)
• Davey failed to advise his client in writing of the desirability of seeking, nor provide his client a reasonable opportunity to seek, the advice of independent legal counsel
• Failed to adequately supervise a nonlawyer assistant
• Attempted to charge and collect a clearly excessive fee (cheater)

As a direct consequence of his misconduct the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Grievance Committee of the North Carolina State Bar punished Davie gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. October 2022), Davie practices his so-called brand of law with Earwood Moore Carpenter & Guy PLLC at 559 West Main Street in Sylva, North Carolina.
