Attorney Billie Holliday of Rochester, NY; serial tax cheat

The state of New York provided Billie Dean Holliday with a law license in 1985 after he graduated from Duquesne University Law School in Pittsburgh.

The Grievance Committee of the 7th Judicial District found Billie guilty of the following misconduct in February 2012.
  • Engaged in conduct adversely reflecting on his fitness to practice law
  • Engaged in conduct involving dishonest and untrustworthiness
For a period of sixteen (16) years (1994 to 2009), Billie failed to file federal and New York State tax returns. He also failed to pay any taxes during this time period.

When his case came before the Grievance Committee in 2012, Billie admitted that he not yet paid one single dime on the federal and state taxes he owed.

Billie’s Hyperbolic (BS) Defenses

Billy had the audacity to claim that he violated federal and state tax laws for 16-years because he suffered from various undisclosed health problems. Billie also claimed that he suffered from financial problems during the period in question.

As one could expect, the comedians sitting on the 4th Judicial Department bought into Billie’s bullshit excuses by giving him credit in mitigation.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits on the Appellate Division of the 4th Judicial Department punished Billie by gifting him with a complimentary censure.

Is there any wonder why the vast majority of New Yorkers have total contempt for the manner in which Attorney Misfits are disciplined?

As we speak (June 2012) Billie practices law at 16 West Main Street in Rochester, New York.
