Attorney Gerald Asay of Baton Rouge, LA; ethical troll
The state of Louisiana presented Gerald Joseph Asay with a law license in 2008 after he graduated from Louisiana State University (LSU) School of Law.
The Louisiana Attorney Disciplinary Board found Gerry guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.
-
Gerry’s relationship with his wife Paige was tumultuous and marked with alcohol use, her alleged drug use, and her alleged infidelity
-
Gerry encountered his wife at their family home even though they were separated
-
While at the family home, a confrontation took place causing Gerry’s wife to summon police
-
Gerry left the premises prior to the arrival of police
-
Because Gerry had taken his wife’s luggage and car keys, she had to summon an individual who Gerry described as her boyfriend to pick her up
-
Gerry then followed the man and his wife out of the neighborhood and down Airline Highway into Ascension Parish
-
Witnesses describe the Gerry’s efforts to run his wife and her boyfriend’s vehicle off the road repeatedly
-
In one instance, the Gerry was able to get the other vehicle to stop whereupon he exited his vehicle and stood in
-
front of the boyfriend’s car who was trying to get around him, in order to prevent from being run over
-
Gerry jumped onto the hood of the boyfriend[’s] vehicle.
-
The events culminated in the Gerry striking multiple vehicles including the vehicle occupied by his wife and her boyfriend at a red-light intersection.
-
Multiple parties reported injuries including innocent occupants of other vehicles
-
It should be noted that Gerry’s minor daughter occupied his vehicle in a car seat in the back of his vehicle
-
Upon arrival of police and the completion of their investigation, Gerry was charged with Negligent Injuring, Aggravated
-
Criminal Damage to Property, and Aggravated Battery
As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Louisiana Supreme Court punished Gerry by gifting him with a complimentary 1-year suspension of his law license.
As we speak (ca. September2022), Gerry practices his so-called brand of law with Kracht Madison Huddleston LLP at 5149 Bluebonnet Road in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
