Attorney LaShon Harley of Raleigh, NC; slacker, loser

The state of North Carolina presented LaShon A. Harley with a law license in 1998 after he graduated from Wake Forest University School of Law.

The Grievance Committee of the North Carolina State Bar found LaShon guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

  • Intended to commit acts where the harm or potential client harm was foreseeable
  • Conduct had negative impact of LaShon's actions on the clients' or public's perception of the profession
  • Conduct impaired the client's ability to achieve the goals of the representation.
  • Misconduct involved multiple offenses
  • Conduct negatively affected title insurance companies
  • Knowingly failed to reconcile her trust account
  • Failed to track and determine what funds she had for which clients in her trust account, and
  • Failed to send her clients annual accountings of funds being held in trust on their behalf for several years
  • Failed to deposit mixed funds intact into her trust account
  • Failed to promptly deliver entrusted funds as directed by her clients
  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  • Failed to reconcile her general trust account quarterly
  • Commingled client funds with personal funds
  • Failed to provide requisite accountings of entrusted funds
  • Failed to maintain required records
  • Failed to identify the client against whose balance the item was being drawn
  • Used improper methods to disburse funds from her trust account

As a direct consequence of his misconduct the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Grievance Committee of the North Carolina State Bar punished LaShon gifting him with a complimentary stayed 3-year suspension of his law license.

In truth, the comedians sitting on the Grievance Committee of the North Carolina State Bar didn’t mete out any meaningful punishment to LaShon.

As we speak (ca. August 2022) LaShon practices his so-called brand of law with The Harley Law Firm PLLC in Raleigh, North Carolina.
