Attorney David Heyboer of Fort Gratiot, MI; slacker, loser

The state of Michigan presented David R. Heyboer with a law license in 1977 after he graduated from the University of Detroit School of Law.

The Tri-County Hearing Panel #4 found Davey guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

  • Committed professional misconduct during his handling of a client’s post-divorce judgment matter
  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  • Failed to keep client informed of status of matter
  • Failed to promptly comply with client information requests
  • Violated or attempted to violate the Rules of Professional Conduct
  • Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
  • Engaged in conduct that exposes the legal profession or the courts to obloquy, contempt, censure, or reproach

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the Michigan Supreme Court punished Davey by gifting him with a complimentary 30-day suspension his law license and assessed investigate costs of $750.00.

And lastly, as one would suspect, Davey fails to mention the misconduct set forth above on his self-serving website at www.heyboerlaw.com. Apparently, he decided to conceal this highly relevant information from prospective clients for the purpose of not limiting his future victim pool.

As we speak (ca. June 2022), Davey practices his so-called brand of law with Heyboer Law PLC at 3051 Commerce Drive in Fort Gratiot, Michigan.
