Judge Judith Meyer of Long Beach, CA; ethical troll

The sate of California Provided Judith Levy Meyer with a law license in 1993 after she graduated from Pepperdine University School of Law.

FYI: Judy has had her significant snout firmly implanted in the public trough for the past twenty-eight (28) years since she graduated from law school. Apparently, no self-respecting law firm in the greater Los Angeles area was about to offer he a good paying job.

The California Commission on Judicial Performance found Judy guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

  • Engaged in several instances of misconduct arising out of the same matter
  • Created the appearance that law enforcement officers were in a special position to influence her
  • Misused the prestige of her judicial office to advance the personal interests of law enforcement officers and herself Made statements that gave the appearance of bias in favor of law enforcement officers and that might substantially interfere with a fair trial or hearing
  • Used her judicial title to advance the personal interests of the detectives by attempting to rehabilitate their reputation
  • Advanced her personal interests by attempting to retract her earlier statements to rehabilitate her own reputation
  • Judy’s statements made in two letters constituted nonpublic statements that might substantially interfere with a fair trial or hearing
  • Judy’s repeated failure to stop and consider the potential impact of her actions negatively affects the public’s perception of, and confidence in, the judiciary

As a direct consequence of her misconduct the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Judicial Commission punished Judy by gifting her with a complimentary admonition.

As we speak (ca. March 2022), Judy practices her so-called brand of jurisprudence as a Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge in Long Beach, California.
