Attorney Benjamin Rucker of Lansing, MI; convicted drunk

The state of Michigan presented Benjamin Rucker with a law license in 1986 after he graduated from the Thomas M. Cooley School of Law.

FYI: Cooley is ranked as the worst or one of the worst law schools in the country out of 202 ABA accredited schools. Proof of such a ranking is the fact that Donald Trump’s former attorney and fixer was none other than convicted felon Michael Cohen.

The Ingram County Hearing Panel #5 found Benny guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

  • Found guilty of criminal contempt for appearing in court visibly intoxicated
  • Failed to report criminal contempt conviction to ethics investigators
  • Violated, or attempted to violate Michigan Rules of Professional Conduct
  • Failed to fully cooperate with ethics investigators (Screw you, said Benny!)
  • Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonesty, or misrepresentation
  • Engaged in conduct adversely reflecting on fitness to practice

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the Michigan Supreme Court punished Chris by gifting him with a complimentary 180-day suspension of his law license and assessed costs of $1,872.26.

As we speak (ca. June 2022), Benny practices his so-called brand of law with Benjamin N. Rucker PC at 425 North Butler Blvd in Lansing, Michigan.
