Attorney Jacquelin Gibson of Atlanta; batterer

The state of Georgia provided Jacquelin Gibson with a law license in 1985 after she graduated from the University of Florida Law School.

For several years Jacquelin was a part-time Juvenile Court Judge in Fulton County (Atlanta), Georgia.

During her time on the bench, Jacquelin was criminally charged with battering her 92-year old mother, Eula Mae Gibson. According to police reports, Jacquelin and her brother tried to remove Eula from the home of one of Jacquelin’s sisters in conjunction with a long-running family feud.

The mother refused to leave and a struggle ensued that resulted in a battery charge against Judge Gibson and disorderly conduct charges against three members of her family. Eula said that Jacquelin had injured her. Eula went on to say, “I don’t want her to go to jail, but she has to be punished.”

Shortly after her arrest, Jacquelin took a leave of absence from her courtroom duties pending the outcome of the criminal battery charge. Jacqueline refused a plea bargain from the prosecutor or that would have required her to attend anger management counseling.

According to the Georgia State Bar Association, disciplinary charges were never filed against Jacquelin for beating up her 92-year old mother.

What kind of person beats up their 92-year old mother? I wonder what Jacquelin has in store for Mom when she reaches her 96th birthday.

As we speak (ca. June 1012) Jacquelin practices law at 235 Peachtree NW in Atlanta, Georgia.
