Attorney George Sallaway of Fayetteville, NY; dimwitted slacker

The State of New York presented George H. Sallawaywith a law license in 2002 after he graduated from the University of Iowa School of Law.

The Grievance Committee of the Fifth Judicial District found George guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

  • Failed to keep clients informed of status of their matters
  • Failed to respond to client information inquiries
  • Failed to take action on client’s behalf for extended periods of time
  • Disclosed confidential client information
  • Motion for post-conviction relief summarily denied due to George’s failure to comply with the rules of the appellate court
  • Disregard client’s instructions to file appeal
  • Failed to fully cooperate with ethics investigators (Up yours, said George!)
  • Failed to file any papers on behalf of the client or to request from the appellate court an extension of time to do so
  • Intentionally prejudiced or damaged a client during the course of a professional relationship
  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  • Improperly shared fee with a non-lawyer

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Grievance Committee punished George by gifting him with a complimentary 2-year suspension of his law license effective March 19, 2021.

As we speak (ca. April 2022), George will resume his so-called practice of law in Fayetteville, New York in late February or early March 2023.
