Attorney John Morgan Jr. of Warrenton, VA; ethical troll

The State of Virginia presented John Carter Morgan Jr. with a law license in 1995 after he graduated from William & Mary University School of Law.

The Virginia State Bar Disciplinary Board found Johnny guilty of engaging in the following misconduct, all of which was based on the findings of U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Paul M. Black and Johnny’s conduct before said court.

  • Because of Johnny’s egregious misconduct, Judge Black suspended his privilege to practice before the bankruptcy court and fined him $5,000
  • Knew and was involved with the unauthorized practice of law involving LSC
  • Johnny failings in representing his client was deserving a severe sanction
  • Johnny delegated to his non-lawyer spouse, who was employed as a paralegal, the responsibility to prepare, review, and witness signatures of his client’s bankruptcy petitions
  • Judge Black found Johnny’s conduct in allowing his wife to perform attorney duties was “beyond the pale”
  • Johnny acted in bad faith in his dealings with the bankruptcy court

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Disciplinary Board punished Johnny by gifting him with a complimentary 1-year suspension of his law license effective January 27,2022.

As we speak (ca. April 2022), Johnny will resume the practice of his so-called brand of the law with New Day Legal PLLC at 98 Alexandria Pike in Warrenton, Virginia in early 2023.
