Attorney Michael Murphy of Janesville, WI; slacker, loser

The state of Wisconsin presented Michael S. Murphy with a law license in 1991 after he graduated from Marquette University School of Law. Mikey also received a license to practice in Michigan in 2001.

The Office of Lawyer Regulation (OLR) found Mikey guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

• Failed to communicate to his client in writing the scope of his representation or the basis or rate of his fee or expenses for which the client would be responsible
• Failed to communicate to the client in writing the purpose and effect of the advanced fees that were paid to him
• Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
• Failed to respond to client phone calls
• Failed to comply with client information requests

As one would suspect, this wasn’t Mikey’s First bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree. He previously received a complimentary reprimand for engaging in a variety of misconduct.

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Wisconsin Supreme Court punished Leah by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. March 2022), Mikey practices his so-called brand of law with the Law Office of Michael Shannon Murphy LLC at 215 West Court Street in Janesville, Wisconsin.
