Attorney Michael Schuitema of Grand Rapids, MI; convicted criminal

The state of Michigan presented Michael H. Schuitema with a law license in 2009 after he graduated from the University of Detroit School of Law.

The Emmet County Hearing Panel #3 found Mikey guilty of engaging in the following misconduct

  • Convicted plea of failure to stop at the scene of a property damage accident
  • Engaged in conduct in violation of a Michigan criminal law
  • Engaged in conduct adversely reflecting on fitness to practice

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the Michigan Supreme Court punished Mikey by gifting him with a complimentary 30-day suspension of his law license and assessed costs of $750.00.

As we speak (ca. February 2022), Mikey practices his so-called brand of law at 201 Michigan street NW in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
