Attorney Angela Montogomery-Budd of Downingtown, PA; dimwit, slacker

The state of Pennsylvania provided Angela E.M. Montogomery-Budd with a law license in 1999 after she graduated from Loyola University School of Law.

The Office of Disciplinary Counsel found Angie guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

• Failed to provide competent representation (dimwit)
• Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
• Failed to provide clients with written fee agreement
• Neglected legal matter entrusted to her
• Despite promising client she would file necessary adoption paperwork, she failed to file any paperwork or take any steps to initiate the adoption process in the Chester County Court of Common Pleas Orphans’ Court Division
• Made numerous misrepresentations to clients about filing adoption petitions with the court
• For well over a year, Angie decided her clients into believing the court had only to schedule the adoption matter for a hearing
• Failed to keep client informed of status of matter
• Failed to comply with client information requests
• Failed to take necessary steps to protects client interests upon being terminated
• Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonesty, or misrepresentation

As a direct consequence of her misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Pennsylvania Supreme Court punished Angie by gifting her with a complimentary 1-year suspension of her law license, effective on March 8, 2021.

As we speak (ca. September 2021), Angie will resume her so-called brand of law at 21 Paul Nelms Drive in Downingtown, Pennsylvania in early March 2022.
