Attorney James Marsh of Philadelphia, PA; contemptuous liar, repeater

The state of Pennsylvania provided James T. Marsh with a law license in 1994 after he graduated from Loyola University School of Law.

The Office of Disciplinary Counsel found Clair guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

  • Found guilty by Judge Genece Brinkley of criminal contempt and fined $500
  • During jury selection made misrepresentations [lied] to Judge Brinkley and assistant DA that his client was on active duty and permitted to wear his military uniform during his criminal trial
  • Because the selected jurors witnessed his client in uniform, Judge Brinkley was forced to dismiss the jurors and select a new jury, which caused a substantial delay in the course of the trial
  • Engaged in misleading and dishonest conduct by forwarding to Daniel Contreras III, a former client, a civil complaint which had not been filed with the court in an attempt to deceive the client into believe he had initiated a civil action against the client for unpaid fees
  • Continued to deceive Mr. Contreras by forwarding him a Write of Execution and a Notice in regard to the sham lawsuit in an attempt to make him believe that a judgment had been rendered against him
  • Knowingly made a false statement of face or law to a tribunal
  • Engaged in conduct adversely reflecting on fitness to practice
  • Engaged in conduct involving dishonesty, fraud, deceit, or misrepresentation
  • Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Pennsylvania Supreme Court punished Jimmy by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.
