Attorney Charles Haas of Redford, MI; ethical goblin

The state of Michigan presented Charles A. Haas with a law license in 1972 after he graduated from the University of Wisconsin School of Law.

The Tri-County Hearing Panel #12 found Charlie guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

  • Used his IOLTA trust account for improper purposes
  • Held funds other than client or third-person in IOLTA trust account
  • Failed to preserve complete records of IOLTA account funds for a period of five years after termination of representation
  • Engaged in conduct that is contrary to justice, ethics, honesty, or good morals

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Michigan Supreme Court punished Charlie by gifting him with a complimentary 45 -day suspension of his law license, assessed investigative costs of $1,105.87.

As we speak (ca. May 2021), Charlie practices his so-called brand of law at 26085 West 6 Mile Road in Redford, Michigan.
