Attorney Franklin Furlett of Schaumburg, IL; greedy cheater

The state of Illinois presented Franklin Joseph Furlett with a law license in 1979 after he graduated from Loyola University School of Law.

The Illinois Registration and Disciplinary Commission found Frankie guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

• Frankie represented a recently widowed woman in matters relating to the administration of her deceased husband’s estate
• In representing the widow, Frankie collected an unreasonable fee of $20,000 for preparing new estate-planning documents for the woman and her adult daughter and for incorporating a business for the daughter
• In addition, Frankie he sought an additional $25,729.75 in fees that the client did not pay

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Illinois Supreme Court punished Frankie by gifting him with a complimentary censure.

And lastly, as one would suspect, Frankie fails to mention the misconduct set forth above on his self-serving website at www.furlettlaw.com. Apparently, he chose to conceal this relevant information for the purpose of not limiting his future victim pool. 

As we speak (ca. April 2021), Frankie practices his brand of law with the Law Office of Franklin J. Furlett Ltd.  at 335 West Wise Road in Schaumburg, Illinois.
