Attorney Michael Hayes of Columbus, OH; thieving druggie

The state of Ohio presented Michael Hayes with a law license in 1998 after he graduated from Capitol University School of Law.

The Board of Commissioners on Grievances and Discipline found Mikey guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

  • Engaged in a pattern of misconduct
  • Failed to make scheduled court appearances
  • Failed to file necessary pleadings on behalf of his clients
  • Failed to comply with promised actions on behalf of multiple clients
  • Failed to refund unearned fee advances to several clients (thief)
  • Neglected legal matters entrusted to him resulting in significant harm to clients
  • Admitted addiction to Percocet, Vicodin and Suboxone
  • Admitted to the use of crack cocaine
  • Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
  • Failed to pursue the lawful objectives of a client and damaging a client in the course of a professional relationship

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the State Bar Court punished Mikey by gifting him with a complimentary 18-month suspension of his license.

As we speak (ca. June 2021), Mikey practices his brand of law at 901 South High Street in Columbus, Ohio.
