State Rep. Jerry Sexton (R-TN): Today’s: “Halfwit Misogynist” Award Winner

To assure his standing as one of Tennessee’s Premier Misogynists, A-Holes, Bigots and Aspiring Standup Comedian, Jerry introduced legislation in the Tennessee General Assembly that would allow a man who impregnates a woman to seek a court injunction barring the woman from having an abortion.

This asinine and over-the-top misogynist law would apply to a man that wasn’t married to the woman he impregnated, which is not only farcical but flies in the face of reality.

Apparently, Jerry is a member of the male group in Tennessee that adheres to stereotype that women are ignorant, and should be kept barefoot, pregnant, and most importantly, be obedient to their husband’s orders, directives and wishes.

This isn’t Jerry’s first attempt to assure that he will go down as one of Tennessee’s most ignorant and bigoted state assembly members. In the past, Jerry has engaged in the following conduct.

  • In 2016, introduced a bill that would have designated the Holy Bible, as the state book of Tennessee, which failed
  • In 2020, re-introduced his Holy Bible designation bill, which failed again
  • In June 2020, Jerry voted against removal of a bust honoring Ku Klux Klan Grand Wizard Nathan Bedford Forrest from the Tennessee State Capitol building

Not happy playing the Bumbling Buffoon at the Capitol, Jerry has proven that his primary purpose to being a State Senator is to unjustly enrich himself at the expense of the taxpayers.

In April 2020, during the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, Jerry made a deal to have the Tennessee state government purchase over $165,000 in hospital gowns manufactured by Sexton Furniture LLC, a business that he owns.

Apparently, when Jerry attended Walters State Community College in Morristown, Tennessee, they didn’t provide any courses in ethics and/or anything dealing with what constitutes a conflict of interest. Even worse is the fact that the local Baptist Church where Jerry is a minister never taught him anything about ethics or self-dealing.

As we speak (ca. March 2021), Mark continues to allegedly represent the best interests of his constituents in an area encompassing Grainger, Claiborne, and part of Union County.
