Attorney Richard Savitt of New York City; lying scammer

The state of New York presented Richard Paul Savitt with a law license in 1996 after he graduated from Suffolk University School of Law.

FYI: Suffolk University is ranked as the 159th best law school in the country out of 202 ABA accredited schools.

The Appellate Division, First Department Grievance Committee found Dick guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

  • Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonesty, or misrepresentation
  • Engaged in frivolous litigation
  • Made false statements of fact or law to a tribunal or failing to correct a false statement of material fact or law previously made to the tribunal by a lawyer
  • Engaged in undignified or discourteous conduct before a tribunal
  • Frivolous conduct led to imposition of $46,150 in court-imposed sanctions
  • Demonstrated no effort to pay the sanctions imposed against him and showed no appreciation for the professional
  • significance of the judicial findings underlying them

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the First Department Grievance Committee punished Dick by gifting him with a complimentary 2-year suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. February 2021), Dick practices his brand of law with the Savitt Law Firm PLLC at 6 East 43rd Street in New York, New York.
