Today’s “Homophobe” Award Winner is Virginia legislator Bob Marshall

Bob Marshall has been a member of the Virginia House of Delegates (legislature) since 1992. Bob laughingly claims to be a devout Catholic; however, with Bobby treating your fellow man with respect and dignity is a no-no when that man just happens to be gay.

When the nomination of Richmond assistant city attorney Tracy Thorne-Begland

Recently Tracy Thorne-Begland, assistant city attorney for Richmond was nominated for a judgeship. Tracy is a former Navy fighter pilot who disclosed that he was gay many years ago.

When Tracy’s nomination for the Richmond judgeship came before the Virginia House of Delegates, Bobby voted to deny him the job. Bobby laughingly asserted that certain aspects of Tracy’s biography (being gay) meant he would not be able to be impartial if he became a judge. It is undisputed that Bobby missed his calling as a standup comedian!

Apparently, Bobby was concerned that if any of his fellow homophobes appeared before Bobby as a Judge he would likely treat them unfairly. It’s nice to know that there’s at least one overt homophobe in the Virginia House willing to do what is necessary to protect his fellow homophobes.

Congrats Bobby; keep up the good work! We should let everyone know of your amazing record as one of America’s most accomplished Homophobes; you are far too humble.
