Attorney Marc Shefman of Royal Oak, MI; ethical ogre

The state of Michigan presented Christopher Allyn Sevick with a law license in 2003 after he graduated from Western Michigan University Thomas Cooley School of Law.

FYI: Cooley is ranked as the worst or one of the worst law schools in the country out of 202 ABA accredited schools. Proof of such a ranking is the fact that Donald Trump’s former attorney and fixer was none other than convicted felon Michael Cohen.

The Tri-County Hearing Panel #67 found Marc guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

• Engaged in professional misconduct in relation to a client’s settlement funds
• Engaged in professional misconduct in relation to a client’s collection matters
• Neglected a legal matter entrusted to him
• Failed to promptly notify the client when the funds in which the client had an interest were received
• Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
• Failed to promptly pay or deliver funds that the client or a third person is entitled to receive
• Failed to appropriately safeguard funds in his IOLTA trust account

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Michigan Supreme Court punished Bobby by gifting him with a complimentary 60-day suspension of his law license and assessed investigative costs of $1,047.20.

And lastly, as one would suspect, Marc failed to disclose the misconduct set forth above on his self-serving website at www.shefmanlaw.com. Apparently, he decided to conceal said relevant facts from prospective clients to prevent limiting his future victim pool.
