Judge Cader Indar of Cotabato City, Phillipines; scofflaw, idiot
In April 2012, the Philippine Surpeme Court issued an order tossing Judge Indar off the bench as presiding judge of the Regional Trial Court Branch 14 in CotabatoCity.
Judge Indar was found guilty of gross misconduct and dishonesty because he “issued decisions on numerous marriage annulment cases wherein no records existed with the Office of the Court Clerk.
In booting Judge Indar from the bench, the Supreme Court said, “The court condemns Judge Indar’s reprehensible act of issuing decisions that voided marital unions without conduct any judicial proceedings. Such malfeasance not only makes a mockery of marriage and its life-changing consequences but likewise grossly violates the basic norms of truth, justice and due process. Not only that, Judge Indar’s gross misconduct greatly undermines the people’s faith in the judiciary and betrays the public trust and confidence in the courts.”
In addition to removing Judge Indar from the bench, the Supreme Court order the “forfeiture of all retirement benefits, except accrued leave credits. It also prohibited Indar from reemployment in any branch, agency, or instrumentality of the government including government-owned or controlled corporations.
The Supreme Court also permanently disbarred Judge Indar thereby denying him the opportunity to earn a living as a dishonest attorney.
In the U.S. of A. Judge Indar’s misconduct likely would have led to him receiving a complimentary reprimand or censure. He certainly wouldn’t have been removed with forfeiture of his pension and revocation of his law license.
