Attorney David R. Coletti of Rochester, NY; tax scofflaw

The state of New York provided David R. Coletti with a law license in 1991 after he graduated from Detroit College of Law.

The Grievance Committee of the 4th Judicial Department found Jimmy guilty of engaging in:
  1. Conduct that adversely reflected on his fitness to practice law
  2. Conduct that adversely reflects on his honesty and trustworthiness
In 2009 Dave was criminally charged with four felonies for failing to file and pay New York State incomes taxes. In a plea deal, Dave pleaded guilty to one criminal count of tax evasion.

In a lame attempt at levity, the grievance committee ruled that Dave had expressed “extreme remorse.” Here’s a tax cheat that engaged in felonious conduct for at least four consecutive years. I wonder if “extreme remorse” is synonymous with “extreme conservatism” that Mitt Romney claims he was while governor of Massachusetts.

In truth, Dave was a serial lawbreaker. Despite this undeniable truth, the comedians sitting on the disciplinary committee had the chutzpah to give Dave credit for some alleged “extreme remorse.”

As a consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on Grievance Committee of the 4th Judicial Department punished Dave by gifting him with a complimentary censure.

As we speak (ca. May 2012) David practices law with Christiano & Coletti at 16 East Main Street in Rochester, New York.
