Attorney Kevin M. Dyer of New York City; scofflaw, certified loser The state of New York provided Kevin M. Dyer with a law license in 1985 after he graduated from the Hastings College of Law located in San Francisco in 1979. Previously, state of California awarded Kevin with a law license in 1979.
In late 2011, the Disciplinary Committee for the 1st Judicial Department found Kevin guilty of the following misconduct.
Unable to earn a decent living as a dishonest attorney because of the keen competition in New York City, Kevin opened a Mexican food company in 2008. While running this business, Kevin commingled client funds with personal business funds. From these commingled funds, Kevin wrote a check for $22,625 to pay for company activities. When the check bounced it triggered an investigation by the disciplinary committee.
Because Attorney Misfits in New York City are held to a much lower standard of conduct then every one else, Kevin was never criminally prosecute for bouncing a $22,625 check.
As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Disciplinary Committee for the 1st Judicial Department punished Kevin by gifting him with a complimentary censure.
As we speak (ca. April 2012) Kevin practices law with Dyer Harris LLP at 80 Maiden Lane in New York City.
