Attorney Charles J. Chvala of Madison, WI; convicted felon

The state of Wisconsin presented Charles J. Chvala with a law license in 1979 after he graduated from the University of Wisconsin Law School.

Charles has made at least two visits to the Attorney Misfits Apple Tree as a result of findings by the Wisconsin Supreme Court that he engaged in a variety of misconduct.

Charlie’s most recent misconduct involved his criminal conviction of one count of misconduct in public office (Class E felony) due to his illegal use of state employees to work on his political campaign on state time. Charlie was also convicted of another felony for making an excessive campaign contribution.

As a consequence of his criminal convictions, the Wisconsin Surpeme Court punished Charlie by presenting him with a complimentary two-year suspension of his law license.

Despite the fact that Charlie is a convicted felon, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Wisconsin Supreme Court reinstated his law license upon his application after his two-year suspension ended.

It must be comforting to the citizens of the Madison, Wisconsin area to know that there is yet another convicted felon plying his trade as a an attorney in their area.

As we speak (ca. April 2012) Charles practices law at the Chvala Law Offices located at 10 East Doty Street in Madison.
