Attorney Lynn E. Ashcroft of Portland, OR; Dufus, liar

The state of Oregon presented Lynn E. Ashcroft with a law license in 1979.

For several years Lynn was a sitting Marion County Circuit Court Judge. During her tenure on the bench, Disciplinary Counsel found Judge Ashcroft guilty of the following misconduct.

In 2008, Judge Ashcroft was assigned to hear two court proceedings involving the criminal drug case of Heather Parks of Portland. Subsequent to the two hearings, Judge Ashcroft went to a restaurant where she found defendant Parks and her friends eating. Ashcroft then purchased food and drink for defendant Parks and her friend and later paid their entire tab.

Lynn’s Hyperbolic (BS) defense to wining and dining Heather Parks

Lynn didn’t deny buying drinks and picking up the entire tab for Heather and her friends. However, Lynn had the chutzpah to actually claim that he didn’t recall that Heather appeared in his court as a criminal defendant. Lynn should be looking for work as a standup comedian. He sure as hell ain’t very good at fabricating lies!

Despite his laughable denial of knowing Heather, and after he paid for her drinks, Lynn then directed his judicial assistant to request that the court administrator assign Heather’s criminal case to him. This special assignment deviated from established rules for criminal cases pending in Marion County.

After the case was assigned to Lynn, Heather waived her right to a jury trial and opted for a bench trial conducted by Lynn. As expected, Lynn found Heather not guilty on all charges despite evidence to the contrary that was presented by the prosecutor.

After the not guilty with her of a sexual nature. How cool is that?

After the Oregon Department of Justice began an investigation of Lynn’s conduct regarding Heather, he abruptly resigned his judicial office in early 2010.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Oregon Supreme Court punished Lynn by gifting her with a 60-day complimentary suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. May 2012) Lynn practices law at 510 SW 5th Avenue in Portland.
