Attorney Mark Marder of Ponte Vedra, FL; ethical gnome

The state of Florida provided Mark Alan Marder with a law license in 1978 after he graduated from Nova Southeastern University School of Law.

FYI: Nova Southeastern is ranked as the 170^th best law school in the country out of 202 ABA accredited schools.

The Florida State Bar found Mark guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

• Received earnest money deposits totaling $30,000 for two real estate contracts on his client’s property in 2006 and 2007
• After the sales fell through, Mark took the funds as his fees
• Mark improperly requested his client withdraw his Bar complaint
• Failed to properly maintain trust account records
• Failed to properly follow minimum trust accounting procedures

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the Patron Saints for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Florida Supreme punished Mark by gifting him with a complimentary 90-day suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. February 2021), Mark practices his brand of law at 84 Big Island Trail in Ponte Vedra, Florida.
