Attorney Lora Scott of Orlando, FL; ethical goblin

The state of Virginia presented Lora S. Scott with a law license in 2006 after she graduated from Barry University School of Law.

The Florida State Bar found Lora guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

  • Ordered to pay $2,000 restitution to client [victim]
  • Failed to adequately communicate with her client
  • Failed to keep client informed of status of matter
  • Failed to comply with client information requests
  • Failed to explain a matter to the extent reasonably necessary to permit the client to make informed decisions regarding the representation
  • Failed to consult with the client about any relevant limitation on her conduct when she knows or reasonably should know that the client expects assistance not permitted by the Rules of Professional Conduct or other law
  • Failed to inform the client of any decision or circumstance with respect to which the client's informed consent was required

As a direct consequence of her misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Florida Supreme Court punished Lora by gifting her with a complimentary reprimand and assessed disciplinary investigative costs of $1,963.74.

As we speak (ca. May 2021), Lora practices his brand of law with The Law Office of Lora S. Scott LLC at 37 North Orange Avenue in Orlando, Florida.
