Attorney Joseph Rafidi of Youngstown, OH; ethical gnome

The state of Ohio presented Joseph F. Rafidi with a law license in 2000 after he graduated Thomas Cooley School of Law.

FYI: Cooley is ranked as the worst or one of the worst law schools in the country out of 202 ABA accredited schools. Proof of such a ranking is the fact that Donald Trump’s former attorney and fixer was none other than convicted felon Michael Cohen.

The Disciplinary Counsel found Joey guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

• Took advantage of his professional relationship with a client who was a potential defendant in a federal drug trafficking investigation to improperly solicit more lucrative employment by another defendant in the same investigation
• Improperly agreed to represent both clients despite the potential conflicts of interest inherent in joint representation, and did so without advising either client of those conflicts or obtaining their informed consent

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Ohio Supreme Court punished Joey by gifting him with a complimentary 6-month suspension of his law license.   

As we speak (ca. October 2020), Joey practices his brand of law with The Rafidi Law Firm at 3627 South Avenue in Youngstown, Ohio.
