Attorney Rashida Overby of Tamarac, FL; alleged serial thief

The state of Florida presented Rashida Mosi Overby with a law license in 1999 after he graduated from Temple University School of Law.

In one matter, Rashida was recently charged and arrested on October 5, 2020 for being involved in an alleged foreclosure fraud scheme that cost victims nearly $750,000.00. (Debra Cassen Weiss)

The allegations of criminal conduct involving Rashida are as follows:

  • Charged with 29 counts including fraud, money laundering and grand theft
  • Filed fraudulent court documents in which he claimed to represent elderly property owners or heirs of deceased property owners who were owed surplus funds from foreclosure sales
  • After judges granted the pleadings, Rashida allegedly kept part of the money and wired the rest to two co-conspirators
  • The two co-conspirators, Illya and Patricia Tinker, are already in jail following a conviction in a different fraud scheme that took ownership of 44 homes through forged documents

All that remains now is to see how long it takes before Rashida cops a plea to reduce the amount of time he will spend in prison.

As we speak (ca. October 2020), Rashida practices with Overby Law LLC in Tamarac, Florida.
