Judge Michael Tawil of White Plains, NY; bigoted loser

The state of New York provided Michael Tawil with a law license in 1992 after he graduated from Syracuse University School of Law.

The New York Commission on Judicial Conduct found Judge Tawil guilty of engaging in the following misconduct, all of which took place while he was employed as a part-time judge.

• While acting as private attorney in civil case involving an automobile accident, made insensitive remark about co-defendant’s Hispanic ethnicity
• Asserted his judicial office when confronted with making the incentive comment about a co-defendant’s Hispanic ethnicity
• Mikey’s summation included “a demeaning remark” that “showed an insensitivity to the special ethical obligations of judges and detracted from the dignity of judicial office” 

During his closing arguments in the civil case involving the Hispanic co-defendant, Mikey made the following statements.

• “For all we know, he could be frying up some platanos [plantains] in the front seat.”
• “We don’t know.  But he’s not paying attention to the road, what’s going on around him, okay.”

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Judicial Commission punished Mikey by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. September 2020), Mikey continues to sit as part-time Ossining Town Court Judge in Ossining, New York. Mikey supplements his income by practicing his brand of law with the Law Office of Michael Tawil PC at 34 South Broadway in White Plains, New York.
