Judge Laura Gillis of Phoenix, AZ; convicted liar

The state of Arizona presented Laura Gillis with a law license in 2001 after he graduated from Loyola University School of Law in Los Angeles, California.

The Arizona Commission on Judicial Conduct found Laura guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

  • Misconduct involved dishonest or selfish motive
  • Engaged in illegal conduct
  • Lied to police that client’s violation of protective order occurred via a three-way call with Laura and the third party
  • When investigators contacted Laura to verify the three-way call, she falsely stated she was on the call with her client and the third party
  • Convicted of providing false information to law enforcement, class one misdemeanor

As a direct consequence of her misconduct, the cheerleaders for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Judicial Commission punished Laura by gifting her with a complimentary reprimand and assessed investigative costs of $1,200.00.

And lastly, as one would suspect, Laura fails to mention the misconduct set forth above on her self-serving website at www.divorcephoenixarizona.com. Apparently, she chose to conceal this relevant information from prospective clients for the purpose of not limiting her future victim pool.

As we speak (ca. September 2020), Laura continues to sit as a pro tem [temporary] judge in Phoenix. Additionally, she supplements her income by practicing her so-called brand of law at with the Law Office of Laura Gillis at 20 East Thomas Road in Phoenix, Arizona.
