US Rep. Doug Lamborn (R-CO: Today’s “Oil Industry Bootlicker” Award Winner

Congratulations to….

U.S. Rep. Doug Lamborn
Today’s “Oil Industry Bootlicker” Award Winner

Rep. Lamborn represents the Colorado Springs area. Doug makes no bones about being a die-in-the-wool Obama hater. In the past he infamously made a “tar baby” comment when referring to Obama. In a lame attempt to establish his bona fides as an aspiring standup comedian, Doug denied the “tar baby” comment had any racial overtones to it.

Recently, Doug has determined that it’s time to do a little pimping on behalf of those in the Oil Industry that purchased his services. Towards that end, Doug recently (04/18/12) introduced legislation titled: “Streamlining Permitting of American Energy Act,” which would ease application requirements for permits and (a) require the Secretary of the Interior to issue a permit within 30 days of receiving a drilling application and (b) require citizens to pay $5,000 to protest drilling projects.

Hopefully, the Oil Industry reimbursed Doug for the costs he incurred in purchasing a pair of industrial strength knee pads as he authored and presented this legislation.

According to Doug, if there was a group of 500 citizens protesting a drilling project, they’d collectively be required to pay $2.5 million for the privilege. Hopefully, these America and Jesus haters will be required to pay the $2.5 million to Doug and/or the American Petroleum Institute.

As one would expect there are those, mostly left wing, commie pinko types who would attack Doug’s reasoned legislation such as Matt Garrington of The Checks and Balances Project based in Denver.

Congrats Doug; keep up the good work! We should let everyone know of your amazing record as one of America’s Premier Oil Industry Bootlickers; you are far too humble.
