Attorney Hank McCurdy of Portland, OR; repeat offender

The state of Oregon presented Hank J. McCurdy with a law license in 1977 after he graduated from the University of Oregon School of Law.

The Disciplinary Counsel found Hank guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

  • Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
  • Client was vulnerable in that she may not have fully understood aspects of the legal proceeding
  • Filed an affidavit in opposition to the opposition’s First Motion for Summary Judgment without reasonable inquiry as to the facts
  • Violated his duties to his client and the legal system
  • Engaged in negligent conduct
  • Misconduct involved multiple offenses
  • Failed to review his file, including client medical records, which would have disclosed the date on which she was informed of the diagnosis
  • Caused actual and potential injury to the court and his client

As one would suspect, this was not Hank’s First bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree. He previously received a complimentary admonition for engaging in a variety of misconduct.

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Florida Supreme Court punished Hank by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. September 2020), Hank practices his brand of law at 14250 NW McNamee Road in Portland, Oregon.
