Attorney Robert B. Manchester of Bellefonte, PA; moron, scamming liar

The state of Pennsylvania provided Robert Bruce Manchester with a law license in 1988.

In March 2011, the Office of Disciplinary Counsel of the Pennsylvania Supreme Court found Bobby guilty of the misconduct involving the two client matters discussed below.

Bobby Scamming Montana Client

Gary Crockett of Montana contacted Robert to represent his son- in-law Randall Tucker regarding a criminal case pending in Georgia. Crockett agreed to pay Bobby a $5,000 retainer, fully refundable if he wasn’t able to work in Georgia no license

The week Bobby received the $5,000 retainer he was in trial in Washington D.C. However, Bobby had the chutzpah to claim that most of the work for Crockett took place while he was in D.C., but the actual work was done by Bobby’s investigator Curtis Everhart.

Shortly after Bobby returned from D.C., Crockett decided to hire a licensed Georgia attorney. On Jan 13, 2006, Crockett advised Bobby about the matter and asked for his $5,000 retainer to be returned. On March 31 Bobby spoke with Crockett and told him he’d have his accountant see if he owned him any attorney fees or costs.

After March 31, 2006 call to Crockett, Bobby refused to communicate with him about his $5,000 for almost four (4) years until February 2010.

Appellate Case Incompetence

In a criminal case where his client was sentenced to 7 to 15 years in prison, Bobby was hired to file an Appeal of the conviction. When the Court of Appeals was provided with Bobby’s appeal brief, they were taken aback at how lousy and amateurish it was. It was so bad that the Court of Appeals was forced to dismiss it!

Of course Bobby never informed his client that his appeal was dismissed because of his conduct; however, when the client discovered the truth, he filed a pro se motion with the court seeking relief. The Court of Appeals granted the motion on the basis of “ineffectiveness of counsel. Put simply, the Court found that in reality Bobby was a moronic loser.

The Board specifically found Bobby guilty of:
  1. Conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
  2. Failure to consult with a client
  3. Failing to keep client informed of status of legal matter
  4. Failing to provide competent representation (moron)
As a consequence of his misconduct the sympathizers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Disciplinary Board punished Bobby by gifting him with a complimentary 90-day suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. April 2012) Robert practices law with R. Bruce Manchester & Associates at 124 West Bishop Street in Bellefonte, Pennsylvania.
