Attorney Shawn Overton of Jacksonville, AR; liar, adulterer

The Committee on Professional Conduct found Shawn guilty of the following misconduct while serving with the Staff Judge Advocate’s office in the U.S. Army.

While serving with the Staff Judge Advocate’s office in the U.S. Army, Shawn was found guilty of:
  1. Adultery
  2. Dereliction of Duty
  3. Made several false official statements
  4. Engaged in sexual relations with his legal assistance client
  5. Conduct that adversely reflected on his trustworthiness and honesty
As a result of his attorney misconduct while in the Army, he was forced to resign. Subsequently the Supreme Court Committee on Professional Conduct filed ethics charges against Shawn based on his misconduct as an attorney in the Army.

If Shawn had gone into politics and decided to become a Newt Gingrich clone, he’d have never have faced this type of sanctions.

The Committee found Shawn guilty of conduct involving dishonesty, fraud, deceit and misrepresentation.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the sympathizers sitting on the Committee punished Shawn by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. April 2012) Shawn practices at 2001 White Drive in Jacksonville, Arkansas, which is a suburb of Little Rock.
