Attorney Lori Sklar of Hopkins, MN; scamming liar

The state of Minnesota presented Joseph Engl with a law license in 2002 after he graduated from Hamline University School of Law.

The Office of Lawyer Regulation found Lori guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Sought to mislead [lie] to court about amount of her fee request
  • Repeatedly informed trial court that she was seeking between $22 and $24 million in attorney fees, claims she made documents filed with the court and orally to the trial judge ‘
  • Despite her representations to the court about the $22-$24 million fee request, she stated that she had never sought more than $12 million in attorney fees
  • She further stated that the $24 million figure represented the maximum amount of recovery she could receive but that $12 million was always the actual amount of her fee request, a claim that was patently false
  • Disobeyed two court orders during fee dispute (Screw you, said Lori!)

As a direct consequence of her misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Minnesota Supreme Court punished Lori by gifting her with a complimentary 30-day suspension of her law license.

As we speak (ca. June 2020), Lori practices with the Sklar Law Offices at 2234 Sherwood Court in Hopkins, Minnesota.
